On Holocaust Remembrance Day (Yom HaShoah), 16th April 2015, members of the Tokaji Borlovagrend participated in the memorial at Mád synagogue organised by the Tokaj Regional Development Board (Tokaj Borvidék Fejlesztési Tanács). Time to remember those who fell victim to this national tragedy, the loss of whom is best appreciated through the history of one family or a settlement. The Jewish community which lived in the Tokaj wine region was vital to its development. Its members renewed local winemaking techniques, played a key role in the sales and transport of the wines, founded institutions and assisted the development of urban society.
