“Last year we offered one wine at the Auction, this year we are presenting two lots. A dry and a sweet Late Harvest. We create a dry estate wine in line with the winery’s philosophy that is a blend of our best lots. In every vintage we process and mature grapes from 6 or 7 vineyards for the estate wine, but it does not show the beauty of the individual vineyards. If the vintage allows, then we treat the crop from the Mestervölgy, Király and Úrágya vineyards separately. These small lots are perfect for us to get to know the character of the individual vineyards. Here in the Tokaj Wine Region we have had to restart that which more fortunate wine regions have been practising for centuries. The only way for us to be able to create unique and valuable wines is to know the vineyards intimately. That is why I think it is esential that participants in the wine auction, who are knowledgeable consumers, can help us in our work. And this assistance gives not only us pleasure!”
