Sauska Tokaj vineyard

Our winery opened in 2003 in the Neo-Classicist former Tokaj Casino. We extended the building in the early 2000s to make it suitable for grape processing and the three levels make it possible to use gravity which greatly simplifies the related technological steps. The cellar has a fermenting capacity of 1000 hl in tank and 550 hl in barrel. The cellar is suitable for the size of our land and we can easily press 400 to 7000 kg with expert precision and just one parcel. Depending on the wine type we gain the must from the bunch, destemmed or destemmed and macerated. We ferment in small tanks or barrels (230-500-l) as is right for the variety of the vineyard. Simpler lots that go to market fresher ferment in tanks and only partly receive barrel aging. We have made sparkling wine since 2011 and naturally we chose the methode traditionelle so in that spirit we are following those cultivation and technological steps.
