“Creation, care, thoroughness, values, protection, persistence, love, joy, beauty, charm, simplicity, feeling, understanding, uniqueness” (Csaba Zsirai, 1961-2011)
These are the principles that guided our father when he brought us up and founded the winery, and help us as we strive to fulfil his dream, his heritage. The love of nature and naturalness, protection of values and respect for Hungarian wine led him as he became a vineyard and cellar owner and started on his way. At the beginning winemaking was a hope of escape from monotonous office work and we have grown to be a winery with more than 18 hectares of vineyards in three wine regions in Hungary.
It can be said that we are working on creating “Hungarikums”: in all three wine regions we are experimenting with indigenous grape varieties in danger of being forgotten as well as the most appropriate method of cultivation for the variety. We are taking forward father’s belief, with the help of our mother and a few employees – who tend to be helping friends –, striving to establish a worthy memorial to him.
