Dezső Kékessy and his daughter Katinka, owners of Patricius Winery, which was voted Hungary’s Most Beautiful Vineyard in 2013, established the winery out of a commitment to wine nourished by the past and looking to the future. The estate centre set in Várhegy vineyard, Bodrogkisfalud perfectly reflects the perfect symbiosis of traditions and modernity in the world heritage landscape. The 300-year-old press house with tasting rooms, wine shop and terrace with superb panorama which serve as venues for culinary events, concerts and exhibitions, and is organically linked to the new building of the gravity-flow winery.
They have land in seven vineyards around five villages. The diversity of terroir, the diversity of bedrock, soils and microclimates, can be well discerned in the wines. Their internationally acclaimed wines are typically complex and harmonious. In exceptional years they release the product of outstanding vineyards as single-vineyard wines.
