Winemaking
At the end of August the Kabar grapes in the upper part of Betsek vineyard, in the Burja parcel were of ideal ripeness. After one night settling, the must was fermented with selected yeast in stainless steel and then part was left in the tank, part was racked into barrels of varying age and manufacture. The wine for the Auction is aging in fifth-fill Erdőbénye barrel in Erzsébet Winery. This lot beautifully expresses the over 30-year-old vines, the exceptional terroir and the grape variety.
Wine tasting
“Pale yellow with greenish hints. The nose is mineral, reminiscent of limestone with a touch of perfume. Very rich and youthful in the nose. The wine has incredibly elegant aromatics, none of the flashiness often found in Kabar. A special wine with beautiful structure, refined acids, and a long finish” (Gabriella Mészáros)
