Winemaking

We harvested the grapes, which already had plenty of aszú berries, from late October to early November in the Öreg Király-dűlő. The maceration was for 6-48 hours depending on the bunches brought into the winery. After settling, it fermented spontaneously in 200-litre Szerednyi barrels. We have chosen the most beautiful barrel to offer at the Auction.

Wine tasting

“Wine of grapes from the upper part of Király-dűlő from which only an extremely small amount of Szamorodni was made in this vintage. The vineyard is 100 % rhyolite and rhyolite tuff. As all the lots from this winery, this fermented spontaneously. Despite the wine’s 96 g/l residual sugar, it is expressly light, almost airy. Honey and honey-giving flowers in the nose mix with subtle Botrytis character. Lively and dynamic, the refined underpinning of acidity gives the wine’s framework. A hint of tannin, long-lasting mineral character. Of the sweet wines, this is very drinkable, long. The finish is neither the sugar nor the fruit; far rather it is the defined salty, mineral character that dominates.” (Gabriella Mészáros)
