For the benefit of the fire-damaged Grgić Winery, Dalmatia
Members of Mád Circle have been visiting the island of Korčula for the last 10 years to become better acquainted with the quality wine producers of the area.
During one of their trips they discovered the Grgić winery on the edge of Trstenik on Peljesac penninsula where the family who ran the winery made a deep impression on them with their faith, generosity and modesty.
Mike Grgić is the most famous Croatian winemaker. He returned home to Croatia from California in the mid-1990s to establish a winery. (More info about the winery here: http://www.grgic-vina.com)
On 20th July 2015 a devastating fire broke out on the island which caused great damage in the Grgić winery and its first class vineyards. Some 26,000 Plavac Mali red wine and 1,500 bottles of Pošip white wine fell victim to the fire.
Members of Mád Circle have offered the income from this auction lot to assist in the renovation of the winery.
