Winemaking: The first Aszú I’ve ever made. 2013 was an excellent year for aszú and we were able to select very good quality aszú berries. The base wine was from Meszes vineyard. Beautifully ripe with high acidity. We macerated the aszú berries for 72 hours in fermenting must, then gently pressed them. Fermentation happened in 225-l used barrels and then we aged it for two years. A total of 360 bottles made.

Wine tasting: “The nose gives the complexity of the vintage, with fruit, Aszú and mineral notes all appearing at once. Not only the aromas tell of the outstanding grapes used which can be felt in the defined acid structure and good proportions. This is still a very young wine, with no paucity of tannin but its delicate structure only reinforces the firmness of the wine. A long wine that does not conquer with sugar alone. Elegant, focussed, very substantial wine.” (Gabriella Mészáros)
