Winemaking: 100 % Furmint from a small parcel in Király vineyard in Mád, hence the name. There were few aszú berries in 2009. About 15-20 % of the grapes were botrytised in this vineyard. Made using the Szamorodni method. After one night’s maceration we processed it traditionally. It was fermented in stainless steel and then aged in a (second-fill Szerednyei, 200-l) Zemplén oak barrel for 11 month.

Wine tasting: “This wine is further proof that vintages with less Botrytis can also give sweet wines with such impressive content. The cleanness and the distinct character of the grapes can also be felt in the Furmint’s deep spiciness. Restrained acid structure, it has a totally clear world of flavours. A mature wine with warm tones.” (Gabriella Mészáros)
