Winemaking: The 1.2 ha area at the meeting of the Betsek dűlő lower Betsek and Burja, Mád. 60% Furmint and 25% Hárslevelű, with the remainder Muscat Lunel.

The conditions of the 2014 vintage demanded an enormous amount of attention from the wineries so every lot this year can be regarded as exceptional. In mid-October the winery harvested healthy bunches for this wine. They were destemmed and, after threes hours of skin contact, they were pressed gently. After settling it was fermented and aged in oak barrels.

Wine tasting:Zsirai wines are relatively new on the Tokaj stage. Their wines so far have been characterised by a clean and defined good structure. And their 2014 Betsek Furmint is no different. This exciting dry wine is built on a good structure. The aromas and flavours are as yet showing fruitiness, still agile, youthful and dynamic. But it is true to say that though it seems light, this wine, which presents plenty of minerality, has serious aging potential.” (Gabriella Mészáros)
