Winemaking: The Danczka vineyard in Mád is among the youngest vineyards; the 160 hectares was first planted with vines in 1969. The former geyser tops appear at the surface in some places, but mostly good quality topsoil with rhyolite fragments covers the ground. The southern aspect and rich soil structure ensure good sugar in the grapes which lack no acidity either. After crushing the aszú grapes, the berries were macerated in the same year’s Furmint wine for 36 hours and then gently pressed. Since the bubbling fermentation, the wine has been resting in the barrel.

Wine tasting: “The Dancka vineyard in Mád has always been a terroir for serious sweet wines. The aszú berry production is always significant, and not only at the level of Mád. The clean, healthy and mature grapes are still noticeable in the background. More restrained in acidity, we have an Aszú here with serious body. Soft, warm and very friendly character with a strong backbone.” (Gabriella Mészáros)
