Winemaking: This wine of Furmint grapes from the stony terraces of the Old King vineyard embodies the best of the vintage. Classic way of making Szamorodni with 24 hours’ skin contact, spontaneous fermentation and aging in new barrels.

Wine tasting:The best of the Mád Király vineyard is the area known as Öreg-király, “Old King”, and Barta wines have supported this from the moment they appeared. Slower to mature, their wines, that need more air and patience, enter the bottle in the spirit of complexity and concentration. This sweet Szamorodni demonstrates its already familiar form. Its structure is distinct, well-defined acids, refined tannins. The barrel is still apparent, but its aromas are led by the significant Botrytis and citrus character with a deeper, tobacco, forest mushroom close. Very mineral at the end of the sip.” (Gabriella Mészáros)
