Winemaking: The Hegymegi-dűlő, which lies on a high plateau a short distance from the single tract of the estate’s vineyards, is one of Disznókő’s most distinctive terroirs for dry wines. This lot was made from the first selection of grapes in the 2013 harvest and fermented and matured in 225 litre, second-fill oak barrels. Just one barrel was made. It has the taut body and long, mineral finish typical of the Hegymegi wines.

Tasting notes:  “The complex spectrum of fragrances contains overripe grapes, fresh rather than sundried dates, and sweet spice from the wood of the casks. This fruity-spicy line continues in the positively succulent taste, although here the minerals take the lead. This is an intricately structured wine in which the sophisticated layers overlie one another in utter harmony.” (Gabriella Mészáros)
