Bardon Lapis Furmint 2013

Vineyards: Bodrogkeresztúr, Lapis-dűlő
Planted: 1981
Ground: rhyolite tufa, heavy clay
Harvest: 5th and 12th October 2013

Sugar: 3 g/l
Alcohol: 13.5 %

Winemaking: A blend of dry Furmint (90 %) and Hárslevelű (10 %).
Half of the lot fermented and matured in stainless steel, the other half in 500 litre Medium-Light toasted oak barrels. We harvested the completely ripe and healthy grapes in the Lapis-dűlő and gently pressed the whole punches without destemming.

Tasting notes: “The characteristic Tokaj terroir on the nose is wrapped in ripe fruit aromas (including apple). Big and fiery on the palate, with the powerful alcohol intertwined with minerals. Autumn fruits – led by William’s pear – re-emerge on the palate.” (Gabriella Mészáros)

Estimate:
530 – 610 000 Ft/barrel (2900 – 3400 Ft/bottle)
1800 – 2000 EUR/barrel (9.5 – 11 EUR/bottle)
Quantity: 136 litres – 182 x 750 ml bottles – 1 Gönci barrel
