Founded in 2009 in Mád to make wines that faithfully present the unique terroir of vineyards in and around Mád.
The winery is located in Mád, in the heart of the Tokaj Wine Region. The Mád Wine Community has the largest area of vineyards in the wine region. The vineyards of the Tokaj Wine Region underwent their first classification as early as the 1700s, among the first in the world, and some of the vineyards on the volcanic hills surrounding Mád were deemed first class. Currently we cultivate 25 hectares, most of which are first growths (premier cru). István Szepsy Jr. manages the work in 11 vineyards, most in Mád with some in Tarcal, Rátka and Tállya. We cultivate Furmint, Hárslevelű and Sárgamuskotály; Furmint makes up the majority, some 80 %.
