Winemaking

We harvested the grapes in mid-September. After pressing the whole bunch the must was fermented and aged for 5 months in used wood barrels. Batonnage was employed on average once a week during the aging. We expect to bottle it in April-May 2017.

Wine tasting

“This is the winery’s first consciously made, high-quality dry Hárslevelű wine. Estate manager Gergely Makai and sales director Tamás Oroszlán have long dreamt of showing how beautiful and serious a dry Tokaji Hárslevelű from loess can be, from the historic Hétszőlő-dűlő. Very clean in the nose, it opens with refined fruit-honey character. Just as the barrel is perceptible, it continues with clove. In the mouth the acids are still strongly perceptible at the front, providing the wine’s structure together with the slight tannins. Subtly salty in flavour, the fruit is in the background here. It radiates length and lightness to the end. Very young wine but announcing serious hopes. Is defined, very clean and conscious character can be felt.” (Gabriella Mészáros)
