Wine tasting

“Stéphanie Berecz’s wines have kept Hungarian wine lovers in suspense since they appeared. The easy-going elegance characteristic of the winery presents itself particularly in their single-vineyard wines. Hárslevelű is Stéphanie’s favourite variety, and she has achieved many impressive successes with this grape variety. Despite the looser soil structure of Váti-dűlő, it gives a very distinct character to wines from here.
Clean and defined nose, restrained, welcoming with elegance fruitiness. A slight herbal quality, touch of basil, very little of Hárslevelű’s more forceful side. Refined acidity, but still quite distinct. A living example to disprove the often-expressed opinion of the variety that Hárslevelű gives much lighter wines than Furmint. Impeccable balance, substantial and long-lived in the mouth. Its distinctness is felt to the end.” (Gabriella Mészáros)
