Winemaking: The aszú berries come from the Dorgó vineyard, from two pickings (mid-September, mid-October) of aszú berries individually from the vine. The base wine harvested in early September was Furmint, the base must in early November mainly Hárslevelű. The aszú berries were stored in vats until 18th November, then 60% was macerated in wine for half a day, 40% in fermenting must for three days before being fermented together in steel tanks. Following fermentation, the wine was immediately moved to small wood barrels (one quarter new barrels) and cold settled. In March 2013 the wine was gently racked once in the cellar and then twice during aging.

Wine tasting: “Disznókő gives perhaps the most balanced achievements in modern Tokaj history. Over twenty years of the winery’s Aszú wines can be tasted; the perfect impression of the vintage and distinct character, which always fuse substantial mineral notes with an easy-going elegance. Sparkling, mid-deep golden with green hints. The nose of this wine is young and fresh, evoking citrus and vanilla with a little yeast and sweet, beeswax, pollen notes. Apricot and marmalade on the palate, creamy and full with lower, rounded acids but still fresh with a defined structure. Substantial and complex, superb balance, lingering long in the mouth.” (Gabriella Mészáros)
