Winemaking: The grapes came from parcel 57 in the eastern half of Úrágya vineyard. The Hárslevelű and Furmint were harvested and processed separately. The ripe and healthy bunches were destemmed, then pressed in a hand press. The must fermented spontaneously with naturally occurring yeasts in Zemplén oak barrels. Bottled after eight months. The lot has not been on the market since 2009; the last 45 bottles are being released for the Auction.

Wine tasting: “This wine is not a wine you taste every day. Its colour and nose clearly indicate a mature wine. It offers everything typical of a beautifully developed dry Tokaji wine. Outstanding acid-alcohol balance, deep, mature character. Tertiary aromas dominate the mouth with walnut, tobacco, date, prunes. The vibrating minerality characteristic of Úrágya vineyard closes the finish.” (Gabriella Mészáros)
