Szent Tamás-Makovicza

Vineyard: Mád, Szent Tamás-Makovicza
Planted: 1982
Ground: Red clay rhyolite tuff
Harvest: 10th November 2013

Expected sugar: 100 g/l
Expected alcohol: 12 %

Winemaking: We destemmed the selected bunches containing shrivelled and aszú berries. After 12 hours of skin contact, we pressed them using the traditional “Kossuth” press. The must fermented with its own yeast in new 500 l oak barrels from nearby Erdőbénye.
Ageing: stainless steel vats
Sugar content of must at harvest: 30° BRIX

Tasting notes: “This late harvest led by citrus aromas and intense apricot spice has a complexity of acid structure and silkiness of texture that claim for it a place among the loveliest sweet Tokaj.” (Gabriella Mészáros)
