Béres Diókút

Vineyards: Erdőbénye, Diókút-dűlő
Planted: 2005
Ground: Thanks to the hot waters gushing to the surface due to volcanic activity in this area, opals and rhinestones developed the remains of which have been brought to the surface as the result of land cultivation. The Diókút basin is under the Baksa and Fejérföldű dűlő, encircled by hills.
Harvest: 5th November 2013

Sugar: 217 g/l
Alcohol: 11.5 %

Winemaking: We harvested the grapes in Diókút dűlő in early November. They were already beautifully shrivelled aszú berries giving us a high sugar must at the end of pressing. Fermentation went smoothly, giving us a very exciting Late Harvest wine with rich content.

Tasting notes: “A youthful but classic blend from the village of Erdőbénye with an ethereal lightness belying the serious vineyards from which it hails. Besides its vivid acidity there is a fine balance between the play of citrusy aromas and the botrytis with firmness imparted by the volcanic soils.” (Gabriella Mészáros)
